Asus Vivo Tab RT
The Asus Vivo Tab RT is one of several new touch-screen tablets due this fall running the Windows RT operating system. (That's the stripped-down version of Windows 8.) It will be going head-to-head with other RT tablets such as Microsoft Surface and Samsung's Ativ Tab, all of which are due to be released this autumn. The Vivo Tab was first announced at the IFA trade show in Germany in late August, as part of the entire lineup of Asus Windows 8/RT tablets and laptops. But the tablet's first Stateside appearance was at a recent AT&T event in New York City, where the Vivo Tab was featured as one of the first Windows RT devices hitting the wireless carrier's product line, replete with 4G LTE connectivity on board.
The VivoTab RT has a 10.1-inch, 1,366x768-pixel Super IPS display and is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 TE quad-core processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 RT Preview Edition come included (but note that should be the case with every RT machine). An 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, and built-in NFC round out the Vivo Tab RT's feature set.
